Numerical investigation on slim floors: comparative analysis of ASB and CoSFB typologies

abstract: Innovative composite structures have been intensively studied towards meeting the demands of civil construction. An example such is slim floor, comprised concrete or slabs positioned at height steel beams, reducing total floor. In Brazil, studies on this system are still in early stages, and due to lack both experience national normative codes, it hardly used Given possible combinations between exhibits different typologies. This article reports a numerical investigation two typologies namely Asymmetric Slimflor Beam (ASB), composed an asymmetric I beam, Composite Slim-Floor (CoSFB), beam with small openings top its web. Nonlinear models ASB CoSFB were developed by Finite Element-based software ABAQUS®. The calibrated use experimental from literature, showed high accuracy good results. After calibration, materials properties geometric dimensions models, as thickness, standardized for comparison comparative analysis particular characteristics promoted higher stiffness flexural capacity compared ASB, parametric evaluated influence parameters behavior study revealed exerted more substantial floors than ones.
